A letter from Bob:
"Dear Friends,
My name is Bob Romano and I want to represent you in Austin. I believe we need new representation in our district and I also believe many voters know that “it’s time for change”. Please read on to see how you can help. I am humbled for having been elected as the Democratic nominee for the general election in November. Our primary race was spirited and fast moving. We ran against an outstanding candidate who was well funded, dedicated, and hard working. However, we prevailed because our team was also dedicated and hard working.
My experiences as City Councilman, Planning and Zoning Commissioner, and founder of the Irving Veterans Memorial Park have prepared me to serve you in Austin. Experience gained while working for IBM for almost 30 years in technical, administrative, management, and executive positions also prepared me to serve. My wife and I have lived in Irving, been property owners, and raised a family here since 1957 after I was discharged from the USAF. I have lived in Texas since I was a teenager and have seen what Texans can do when things need to get done. I have seen what good can be done for its citizens when our representation in Austin truly represents the people of Texas.
When elected as your State Representative, I will dedicate myself to:
- Lowering tuition at our Colleges and Universities & improving public school funding
- Improving benefits for our military veterans
- Stimulate and support economic development
- Improving air quality for the DFW area
- Work to lower credit card interest rate
I am motivated to serve you in Austin because the majority of the people that I have grown to know and respect throughout the years have come from Irving. The challenges and rewards facing our city are increasingly meaningful to me because of my past experiences in Irving. I will always feel a true calling to serve Irving because it has served me and my family over the years.
I will work hard to earn the votes of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents across this district because I know voter support for the incumbent has dropped from approximately 76% to approximately 55% over the years. This radical drop tells me that the voters are ready for a change. Now, here is how you can help make our campaign more viable. The campaign needs money for yard signs, mailers, door hangers, advertising, and community meetings. The primary race took most of our campaign funds and some personal funds as well. Any level of contribution from you will mean a lot to our campaign. Please use the enclosed envelope and together, we can and will make a difference.
Sincerely,
Bob Romano"
Bob Romano, a Veteran of the United States Air Force served his country during the Korean War and now wants to serve YOU as your State Representative in District 105.
